Yazhi finally met someone smaller than her!

ADAD (A Doll a Day) ABROAD

So not only am I back from Montreal and Philly, but Yazhi my first Petite Blythe "Running Deer" just arrived yesterday! It took nearly a month but she finally made it. She came all the way from Singapore like Ramona Rae which explains the long journey. I was out of town for a while and didn't have time to stress over it but being back in the office yesterday, I started to worry a tiny bit that she still hadn't gotten in.

As you can see she is a teeny little thing full of sweetness and charm and movement. Her eyes close when she lies down and open when she's standing. It's quite a fine mechanism for a doll so little. Her eyes themselves are actually quite amazing, very clear brown and shiny like glass.I can't wait to find teeny clothes that will fit her!

I also ordered just a tiny bit more mohair so that I could finish Angora Lee's re-root for good and just get that over with. Of course now, I have to figure out what I'm gonna do about her body again, as always.

I've also begun to hear more about this Krylon Fusion plastic spray paint that people have been using for Black Blythe Customs. I looked them up on Ebay and they have at least 5 different shades of brown, which is like three more than SEM has. A few of them are really nice and I'm pretty excited to try one or two but not sure when I will have the dough to invest for a bit. We'll see.

I have been contemplating getting her on and off for maybe a year now. But it's official. I have seen way too many bad ass pictures of her to let any more time go by without getting her. She is beyond fierce is so many ways! Her hair, her make up, her amazing stock outfit. She'll be making her way to me very soon.

It was our first day in Montreal and we went straight for the street art. I saw all this incredible graffiti on Rue Saint Laurents as soon as we got off our exit to look for the Holiday. I committed it to memory until later. I love graffiti art and I miss it.

BYE BYE SWEETIES!
It was a tough choice for me to make leaving these three luv luvs home while I took the rest on vacation with me. I couldn't take them all, at least not this time. This way at least, they get to have the apt to themselves without me for a few days. I just hope they clean up when they're done partying. LOL!
I had to go with my gut on this and take Neige, Reya and Hamsa. I was back and forth with Vida an threw her in at the last minute. So four will travel to Montreal with me and Fran tomorrow morning. Oh, I'm so excited!!!! It's their first time abroad! EEEEE!!!

Angora Lee: Work in Progress

There are so many little things I need to finish on Angora. I have like a three inch row to finish on her scalp and I ran out of mohair weeks ago so I have to order more. Plus there's still the pale line of her scalp that shows even with the scalp on and I have to paint that somehow. Then there's the body. Always that body. I may have to go with a Neemo if I can't get my hands on an ADG. We'll see. I'm going on vacation for a bit starting next week I won't be able to work on her at all until I get back.

All I did today was put all her eye chips into the new eyeballs Lena sent me. I used tacky glue because I ran out of Krazy. It seemed to work well. It's good to see her.

Dolly Mail!

A Kimono by Hollychan and a sparkly black crotchet eyepatch by fauxfaunna of plascticcupcake! Hollychan made this kimono for me out of pure love. I met her at the last Blythe meet and she's just in love with Neige and Reya and makes these incredible kimonos herself. I love kimonos. I love the architecture of them. They really are ingeniously made. I need to get one for myself of these days. A friend brought one from Japan for me once but that thing's been long gone for years now.

I'm really excited about this eye patch as well. I don't know why eyepatches are so friggin cool. Probably because of the romantic association with badass pirates in the high seas. I love them. fauxfaunna is also working on a heart shaped eye patch which I cannot wait to get.

It's time for a Petite!

Initially, Petite Blythes, also made by Takara never did much for me. I generally felt that a smaller version of Blythe was a just a bit much and their overall look kind of freaked me out a bit! Ha! Go figure! Petite Blythes freaked me out but the the full sized ones don't!

Anyway, as with many things I never thought I would be interested it, it's the photography of Petite Blythe collectors that has brought me around finally. I saw one or two incredible pics of a petite "Hollywood Blythe" and kinda flipped at how cute she was in the composition. They're 11.2cm tall and have eyes that close when they're lying down but they do not change colors.

I started looking for one earnestly a few weeks ago. There were maybe three or four I liked and "watched" on ebay and then I saw this one, "Running Deer" Blythe and and kind of fell in love. In addition to her sweet dark eyes, it's that adorable moccasin themed stock that finally won me over. Also, they are mercifully cheaper than full sized Blythe dolls. Although still quite pricey, for a tiny doll, the price does not break my bank enough to have to consider whether I can get to work for the next two weeks after I buy her, which I did, just this morning.

I picked a name for her a few days ago. Her name is Yazhi, which is Navajo for "Little One." I can't wait to meet her!
