I was on my way home this evening after hanging out with my cousin Amina who is in town with friend from DC visiting. We had a really fun time. I was really happy to see her. It's always good to know someone who remembers how many dolls you had as a girl, that you were once obsessed with Lee press on nails and that you once made journals together from scratch. Oh my God! I was young once. LOL!

Anyway, I was walking home slowly when I passed this quaint local toy store in my neighborhood called "Grandma's Place" and I spied some Barbie Fashionistas clothes inside. I have passed this store so many times, peaked at it, glanced at it and stared at some of their window displays but in all the years I've lived in Harlem this may be only the second time I've gone inside!

I picked put this fresh outfit for Malcolm because I feel like he needs some color in his life. I've been playing him, keeping him on in black for months. Besides summer is around the corner! It came with pants, a pair os shoes, eye glasses and this dope hat! I am so loving what he does for that hat.

I took Whitney with me to work today, as a stress deterrent before taking my Photo History midterm this evening.

It was so beautiful on campus I took several photos of Whitney and this lovely flowered tree before going in to class to take the test. After basking in the glow of Spring I was quite relaxed and not too nervous at all. Ahhh... I just love Spring.

I haven't had a Fave Photo of the Day in a while. Even though I saw this one in Nevraforever's stream for the first time last night, it's still my fave. She creates such amazing moods on her doll photos. I just love this one.

Brooklyn Blythes

Sepia Bar Gang

I had a lovely Saturday this weekend visiting the Brooklyn Botanical garden for a few glorious hours and then meeting up with Paula afterwards for some brunch and a drink at the Sepia Bar on Underhill Ave. We had a great long table right at the front window by cushions on the sill. We set up our girls to hang out and took pictures of them off and on for hours while we talked and drank. I recommend the Campari Cocktail by the way. It was amazing.

What can I say about my Pullip Dal? I was not crazy about Dals initially but I didn't hate them although there are some variations of them that I really do dislike.

I think ultimately what made me curious enough to buy one, (and I'd been looking into getting one, "Another Rabbit Dal since last year) is the pinched defiant look they often have. That's the look I'm fascinated by, that always cracks me and makes me smile and also makes me wonder what they're thinking. Plus, I like their big old alien eyes and delicate looking articulated bodies.

When I pulled my used Fiori Pullip Dll out of her box last night, it was like Christmas!I was super excited and just hoping that I would like her! I was a little surprised by how big her head was (like 3 inches wide) sort of similar to when I saw my first Blythe but after that I freaking adored her.

I've named her Journey because I think she has that kind of spirit or maybe it's just because I'm dying to go on one.

She swivels very readily at the waist and bends in the chest area. She has some significant staining on her calves which I suppose is why I got her so cheap but I don't mind. Her eyes turn from side to side and center. She was wearing a terribly tight little stock pink dress when she arrived which I have discarded. I'm browsing some gear for her on etsy now. I can't wait to take her out! : )

Skull Shores Lagoona: The Last Monster High Girl, I SWEAR!

Okay so you know I had MH Operatta a while back and she was and is fierce but I sold her on BK due to a combination of a minor manufacturing defect and also I just wasn't feeling her. Easy come, easy go. I decided I was done. But I have always wanted a Lagoona.  I just figured, I'd seen so many and never felt a spark, so I probably could live without her. A week or so back I saw this Lagoona on nevraforevers flickr stream. I didn't even know she was "Skull Shores" at the time but I thought she was pretty cute. However according to her this was one of those chance finds at a local Target I had no intention of looking for her myself only to be disappointed. It was the last thing on my mind when I visited Target in Palisades today with my sweety to do some shopping

I was just making the usual rounds in the doll isle when I spotted a Stardoll I wanted to get a closer look at and directly to the right of her was this Lagoona, the same one nevraforver happened upon recently, the prettiest one I have ever seen and the last one on the shelf. She was at a great price too. The stars were aligned. It was dolly fate.

She's just amazing. I love the way Mattel designed her.  Her legs are made from this pearlescent plastic, she's wearing this fierce pair of blue ocean jelly heels, an octopus earring and shell earring, one of each on her fin shaped ears and removable fins on her fore arms and calfs. But more than all that, she's just so darn charming sweet and elemental. She really is a Goddess of the ea with lot's of photographic potential. I adored her on sight. I haven't felt this way about an MH doll in a long time, dare I say since my first MH doll, Frankie Stein. I'm really glad she found me.

It's happening again. I'm thinking about dropping cash on a doll car instead of stuff for me! And I know it's because I saw this ride in someone else's photostream!

But it's too late for me to be reasonable now. I want it! I promise I will try to feature it in plenty of photos instead of letting it collect dust like the blue Barbie moped. *sigh*
